Review of gsm boiler control evan. GSM-Climate module for remote control of an electric boiler There is no need to pay for using the device

Controlling your heating from your phone is not only comfort, but also significant fuel savings. If you are away or going on vacation, you can set the heating temperature in the house to a lower temperature and significantly reduce the heat loss of the building. For a temporary visit to a dacha, it’s generally an excellent solution. I turned on the boiler a day before, set it to any temperature, and upon arrival it would be warm and dry.

There are many manufacturers of heating control modules using GSM. Everyone has their own advantages and disadvantages. To select a system, I had to spend a significant amount of time at the computer searching for a device. The task was as follows:

GSM module must be available

Controlling the module from a phone, smartphone and computer

Setup should be simple and fast

Durability

System autonomy - backup power

Control of EVAN 7.5 kW boiler with possible connection of security sensors

It is worth noting that buying an electric boiler with a module is not very practical. A separate module is much more functional and fits most models of heating boilers.

The choice fell on Evan gsm climate zont h-1.

The cost of the device for 2017 is 8,200 rubles, it seems affordable, doesn’t it? The box does not wiggle like the block itself.

Nothing extra. A screwdriver, a temperature sensor with a cable of about 3 meters, a power supply, a SIM card and a backup battery. By the way, there is not a word anywhere about the backup battery and SIM card (the instructions say optional). Well, I wasn't in a hurry to buy. But it's still nice. By the way, there are also fasteners and screws.

As I already said, I connected EVAN EPO 7.5 kW to the boiler. Connection without problems according to the instructions.

Can also be connected to any other gas and electric boilers. There are normally closed and normally open contacts. I did not install any security sensors or alarms. You can stick as many as 10 pieces.

We insert the SIM card, the backup battery and connect it to the network and the boiler and you can search the Internet for an application for our phone. The application is available for Android and iPhone. After installing the application, the device is already working. The response time to a command is within 1 minute - excellent. The program interface is more than convenient.

Equipment switching schedule in real time. On the Evan boiler control unit, set the maximum temperature using the regulator. Well, time will tell about durability. I hope it won't let you down.

The GSM-Climate module allows you to remotely change the operating parameters of the heating system and control the climate. Using the module, you can set the required air temperature in the room. At the same time, it is possible to switch to the fixed temperature mode “Economy” or “Comfort”, to the weekly programming mode “Schedule” or turn off the electric boiler.

The device independently monitors the temperature sensor readings and adjusts the operation of the boiler depending on the specified temperature parameters in the room. The GSM-Climate module is capable of transmitting service messages, reports on changes in boiler operating parameters and reporting emergency situations.

CONTROL YOUR COMFORT FROM YOUR PHONE, TABLET OR COMPUTER

ZONT H-1 is a room thermostat with its own SIM card, connected to a heating boiler. Commands can be sent to it from any phone, tablet or PC. For ease of use, there are free phone applications and a personal account on the website. To protect against unauthorized access, access to your personal account is password protected.

ALERTS SYSTEM FOR ALL OCCASIONS OF LIFE

The thermostat controls the temperature in the house and outside, supply voltage, technical condition of the boiler, the number of operating power levels and much more.

If the values deviate from the specified ones, it informs you about this with a call, SMS message, as well as a PUSH notification, if you have the application installed on your phone or tablet.

The thermostat measures the room temperature and turns the output relay on or off, controlling the operation of the boiler so that the room temperature corresponds to the set value. It monitors the technical condition of the boiler and signals in case of an accident or power outage.

10 TEMPERATURE SENSORS FOR EVERY PURPOSE

The thermostat allows you to simultaneously connect 10 temperature sensors. These can be either wired or radio sensors. The cable length of wired sensors can be increased to 30 m if necessary, and the ZONT module itself can be connected at a distance of up to 100 m from the boiler itself

The main readings are used to control the operation of the boiler. An additional sensor is assigned to it as a reserve. If the main thermostat malfunctions, it automatically switches to operation using the backup sensor and control of the boiler does not stop.

The readings of the remaining sensors are used for general monitoring of the heating system.

INDIVIDUAL SETTING OF OPERATING MODES

Comfortable temperature is different for everyone. Some people love tropical heat, others believe that 20–22 degrees is more than enough. We have provided several home heating modes so that you can select the one you need at the moment in one move. In addition, you can easily create a weekly operating schedule for your heating boiler for the most optimal consumption of electricity or gas.

CHARACTERISTICS OF TEMPERATURE CONDITIONS

Economy Why heat the house when everyone is at work? Use this mode and save up to 15% energy daily by setting the minimum temperature to keep the room warm (for example, +15 degrees)
Comfort Set a temperature that is comfortable for you and use this mode when you are at home (when the temperature drops a couple of degrees, the boiler will turn on to heat up to the specified value)
Anti-freeze If you move to a city apartment in winter, set this mode and don’t worry about the heating system at home - it is under reliable protection
Schedule Make a weekly schedule for heating your home and every day it will be cozy and warm (You can set the minimum temperature during the hours you are not in the room, and also set it to warm up to a comfortable temperature by the time you arrive)

EASY INSTALLATION, NO SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED

ZONT H-1 easily connects to an electric or gas boiler instead of a room thermostat. A SIM card of any operator that provides stable reception is inserted into it, and the supply voltage is supplied. You need to send an SMS to the SIM card number from the owner’s phone and “introduce” the devices.

TECHNICAL DOCUMENTATION FOR THE ZONT H-1 MODULE (GSM-Climate)

ON WHICH BOILERS CAN THE ZONT THERMOSTAT BE INSTALLED?

ZONT, in its main purpose, is a simple room thermostat, but only implemented on a hardware platform using a GSM/GPRS modem and WEB technology. The principle of its operation and the method of connection to any gas or electric boiler is exactly the same as that of conventional thermostats. It connects to the connector for the room regulator and controls the boiler, maintaining the set temperature according to the readings of its temperature sensor. To do this, the thermostat turns the boiler on or off by closing the contacts of its output relay.

Thus, if your boiler provides the ability to control commands from a room thermostat, then the ZONT thermostat can be used with it; in particular, the following manufacturers are supported: EVAN, NIBE, ProTherm, Vaillant, BAXI, ARISTON, Beretta, BOSCH, Buderus, VIESSMANN, DAKON, NAVIEN, Thermona, Electrolux, RusNIT and many others.

* Not all brands of supported boilers are listed.

Features of ZONT H-1 GSM-Climate

Supports various preset temperature modes:
Economy - economical fixed temperature.
Comfort - a comfortable fixed temperature (usually a few degrees higher than the economical temperature).
Schedule - maintaining the set temperature according to a schedule.
Off - anti-freeze mode
Alarm – thermostat operating mode when the temperature sensor is faulty.

The module will call only the owner’s phone or trusted numbers determined by him, warning him about all changes or emergency situations. Accordingly, Zont GSM-Climate can receive commands only from the owner or from “its” phones. Unauthorized access is absolutely excluded - even if someone dialed the number by mistake, the device will ask for a password that only the owner and, for example, other family members or trusted persons know. In addition to SMS control, it is possible to control via the voice menu.
In fact, the GSM Climate ZONT H1 module plays the role of your personal assistant - you called it, gave a command, for example, to heat it hotter in advance, and the whole family will eventually arrive in a warm and cozy home. Or vice versa: if you forgot to turn down the power in the morning when leaving for work - no problem, you can do it right from work, via the Internet.

Unlike competitors, it does not have a control panel and all monitoring and control operations are performed using either a personal computer or mobile devices: a smartphone or tablet, which allows the owner to control the situation wherever he is, while significantly reducing the cost of the equipment.
The ZONT-H1 unit works even when cellular communication is lost, executing, for example, a predetermined weekly schedule.
It is possible to use control commands in the form of SMS text and even using the voice menu.
A simple, functional and user-friendly graphical interface is used via a web browser or mobile application. All data is stored on the server and at any time you can view convenient and visual system operation graphs, information messages, or make the necessary settings.
Most boilers have terminals closed with a jumper (corresponding to the boiler being on) for connecting a room thermostat. It is to these terminals that the ZONT-H modules are connected: this jumper is removed and the ZONT H relay contacts are connected in its place.

New!

Weather-dependent automation - energy-efficient heating control taking into account changes in outside temperature (the function is available for modules with firmware version 122:74 and higher)

How does the GSM-Climate thermostat control the boiler?

The thermostat measures the room temperature and turns the output relay on or off, controlling the boiler in heating mode so that the room temperature corresponds to the set value.
It controls the temperature in the house and outside, the supply voltage, the technical condition of the boiler and signals in the event of an accident or power failure. If the values deviate from the specified ones, it informs the owner in any pre-selected way: call, SMS message or notification via the Internet.

To use the Internet service, you do not need to install additional software; work is carried out using any modern WEB browser. Access to the Internet service is provided through a personal page on the zont-online.ru server
From your personal account on the Internet service zont-online.ru, you need to set the desired indoor temperature values, as well as threshold levels for generating alarm messages when the temperature deviates to a critical (emergency) value.
The unit analyzes changes in indoor temperature using its own remote temperature sensor. Depending on the measurements taken, it turns on or off the output relay, which controls the operation of the boiler in heating mode so that the indoor temperature corresponds to the value of the set operating mode.
If a boiler malfunction occurs, the system will immediately notify the owner of this event, which will help avoid troubles.

How is the Evan GSM module connected to the boiler, what are the characteristics and capabilities of the device in question?

Features and Specifications

The GSM module under consideration opens up the possibility of remotely setting the boiler operating mode and controlling the temperature in one or more rooms. Simply insert a SIM card into the module and enter your mobile number to establish a connection between the thermostat and your phone. The peculiarity of this model is the presence of weather automatics, which itself determines the operating mode of the boiler depending on the weather.

The heating system can be controlled not only through SMS messages, but also through a voice menu, as well as through a WEB interface. Economy and Comfort modes are available, as well as a minimum temperature maintenance mode. You can set a weekly heating schedule.

Connection to the boiler

To simply install the GSM module on your Evan electric boiler, you need to use the following diagram:

According to this scheme, the first three contacts are connected to the inputs on the boiler, created for connecting an external thermostat. Depending on the boiler model, for connection you will need either normally closed contacts numbered “1” and “2”, or normally open contacts. If there is a jumper on the contacts from the factory, you will need to connect the thermostat through normally open contacts, that is, “1” and “3”.

Preparing for work

After connecting the equipment to the boiler, you can proceed to setting the thermostat:

Insert the SIM card included with the device into your phone and remove the PIN check when turning it on.

Insert the SIM card into the special slot in the GSM module and connect an external antenna to the device.

Insert the battery into the module, close the cover and make sure that all the LEDs light up.

Register on the official ZONT website - the link is in the passport included with the module.

Add your device to the site, specify its serial number, access password and time zone.

Remove the battery, connect the temperature sensor to the thermostat, and then the power adapter.
